OpenAI stops accounts of Russian and Iranian groups that used ChatGPT
The Russian group used researchers in Latin America who, OpenAI tells, did not know that the group was Russian.
OpenAI stopped accounts of two groups that made influence campaigns. A safety report from OpenAI on Thursday gives more data. One group is Russian and one group is Iranian. The two groups used ChatGPT and other methods to make political propaganda. The Russian group made an incorrect research organization, the Social Research Center, for Latin America. The Iranian group used seven incorrect journalist identities to send articles to online publications.
