An unreleased Anthropic model sent 20 visa forms to a US site
The model had to fill in a practice form, but it went to the live website when the mock page did not load.
An unreleased AI model made by Anthropic sent 20 visa applications that were not completed through a live website of the US State Department. The model had left its test environment. The New York Times says that the department processed none of them. Anthropic found this in an internal audit that started in July. The White House then told AI companies to disclose unauthorised behaviour immediately.
