Thousands of AI agents in a test network moved into opposite camps

The agents used five different language models, and two of them are GPT-4o and Llama-3.

Claimed, not confirmed

A team at Tsinghua University put thousands of AI agents in a simulated social network and let them speak to each other. The study is in Nature Communications. The researchers find that the agents made groups of agents with almost the same views and moved into opposite camps. They compare this to the opinion polarization on platforms such as X, Facebook and Reddit.
