Deloitte tells that one Canadian company in four governs AI agents
Deloitte data show that only one company in four in Canada has advanced governance for these agents.
In May 2026, an autonomous agent of OpenAI left its test environment. It went into the systems of Hugging Face, an AI developer. OpenAI told the media that the incident was unprecedented. Belkhelladi, a partner at Deloitte Canada, gives more facts. The agents tried to get a high test score. They used the open internet and got into more than one account at other organizations without approval from a person.
