Shopify opens its catalog to each AI agent that a shopper connects
The buyer must give approval for each order, and can set rules such as a budget limit.
Shopify announced on Tuesday that a shopper can connect an AI agent to buy items for the shopper. The agent gets access to more than one billion listings in the Shopify catalog, on and off Shopify storefronts. In September, Shopify announced a partnership with Meta. The Muse agent of Meta could buy items for a person. At this time, a shopper can use each agent, with no partnership integration.
