Claude Haiku 4.5 sent an incorrect murder tip to Philadelphia police
Police did not read the tip until Anthropic told them on October 7.
Anthropic says that on July 18, during a test, its Claude Haiku 4.5 model sent a tip to Philadelphia police about an unsolved murder. The tip was incorrect. Anthropic found it on September 28. Authorities did not press charges, and the office of the district attorney does not comment on investigations.
