Study of 2,500 agent runs finds 20 failure modes in agent teams

In the study, agents do not check the facts of other agents unless a person tells them to.

Claimed, not confirmed

Researchers examined more than 2,500 recorded runs of agent-to-agent systems in 488 scenarios. In these systems, agents work for different persons or organizations. Each agent has information that the other agents cannot see. The researchers made a taxonomy of 20 failure modes in 4 categories. The result holds across the harnesses and models that they examined.
