Hackers took data from 16 South Korean financial firms in October
About 100,000 records are open to hackers. Investigators think that one person used an AI tool with the name ARTEX.
On October 14, the Financial Services Commission of South Korea said that hackers took data from 16 financial firms. The hackers did this since the start of the month. The data is about 100,000 records: names, incomes, loan limits and some national ID numbers. Investigators at this time check if the hackers used ARTEX, an open-source AI tool. The tool finds weak systems and attacks them with only a small quantity of human help. Police put 28 investigators on this.
