A new AI system reads grid alarms with 4.2 percent incorrect alarms

Researchers tested the system on 356,950 alarm samples from a regional grid in China.

Claimed, not confirmed

A study in Discover Artificial Intelligence shows an AI system that reads grid alarm rules and finds faults. It had a 96.9 percent F1 score. No other group tested it. For grid control teams, this could decrease alarm overload.

Hallucination rate fell from 15.8% to 3.1% Two vertical bars to scale: 15.8% before the pipeline and 3.1% with it, tested on 356,950 real alarm samples. F1-score 96.9%, false alarm rate 4.2%. A three-layer preprocessing pipeline cut the model's hallucination rate on grid alarm rules from 15.8 to 3.1 percent.
