Forter launches a fraud tool for orders from AI agents
In a Forter test, agents with a protocol work about 10 times as fast as agents that read web pages.
On October 13, 2026, Forter launched the Agentic Commerce Engine in New York. The tool helps online shops find fraud in traffic from AI agents that buy for a user. Forter says that orders from agents on its network grew more than 4 times since August. It says that fraud from automated tools doubled. These numbers come from Forter.
Data from PYMNTS and Visa shows 93% of merchants expect AI providers to pay for wrong purchases, yet some large insurers now exclude AI losses.
