A check of 175 AI tools finds 105 changed their terms of use
Of 37 risk changes, 31 gave creators more risk and 6 gave less.
Claimed, not confirmed
ClipJury, a site that rates AI tools, read the terms of 175 AI tools for video, voice, music and image. It did this on 5 September 2026 and on 3 October 2026. It found that 105 tools, 60%, changed a term in 15 weeks. The changes show if a creator can use the output for business.
What changed
ClipJury keeps a quote from the terms of each tool. It gets each page again and looks for the quote. Lexica gives commercial use only on a paid plan at this time. PicLumen and Suno give no commercial rights on the free plan.
The numbers
- 81 tools changed by 5 September.
- 56 tools changed in the next check.
- 41 claims of safe commercial use on a free plan do not agree with the terms at this time.
ClipJury also found 18 incorrect scores in its data. For each one, the quote gave a paid plan, not a free plan.
What is not known
ClipJury has no account at these tools. It cannot tell how many tools told their users. LOVO and PlayHT do not work at this time. Their license records are not online.
Insight: The proof of your license is on the page of the seller
The terms moved against creators five to one. LOVO filed for liquidation in 2026, and the PlayHT site does not open. The seller writes the terms and can change them. A free plan is a demo, not a right. Look for tools that tighten a free plan when your income increases.
