Pax8 makes 8os to let IT partners control AI agents
Pax8 tells that 9 in 10 small businesses use AI, but only 23% have a written policy for it.
Pax8, a marketplace for small business software, shows 2 new tools at its Beyond EMEA conference in Copenhagen. 8os lets IT service partners control the AI agents that operate in the businesses of their customers. 8bot is a managed AI coworker for the staff of those customers. First access opens this week, and general availability is set for the start of next year.
How it works
8os is made on the marketplace that more than 47,000 IT providers use. It controls agents and models from different vendors together. The memory of each customer is isolated. Hard limits stop use at a set level, and the partner sets the price.
The numbers
The numbers are data from Pax8. Of the businesses that made an AI tool, only 31% have a check and approval procedure. Almost half found shadow AI that is not approved in 6 months.
What is not known
The source gives no price and no customer results for 8os or 8bot. The data comes from the same company that makes these tools.
Insight: The partner who holds the controls sets how the customer uses AI
In a live test by Gravitee, a gateway stopped a task that removes all bookings, but instructions in the system prompt did not. 8os also puts limits and rules external to the model. Pax8 reads as a move to give partners the control point before customers want it. The partner who holds it can set how the customer uses AI. Leaders must find who holds that control point.
