Asymptote Labs gets $5.5M to record and stop the work of AI agents
Beacon, a free open source tool, puts the records of more than 20 AI agents into one standard format.
Asymptote Labs, a startup in New York that monitors AI agents, got $5.5M in seed money on Tuesday, with Tower Research Ventures as the leader. The company makes Beacon, a free open source tool that records the work of AI agents in companies. It also has a platform that is not free and can stop dangerous tasks before they start.
How it works
Beacon works with agents that write code, such as Cursor and Codex. It records prompts, commands and changes to code. This gives teams one system to see the work of each agent, and for which user.
The numbers
Beacon started in May. The company tells that the stars on its GitHub page went up by more than 460% in September. It gave no value for the company, no test results and no names of customers.
What is not known
The company tells that teams use its tools in production, but it gave no customer name. The team of Tower tests Beacon on its computers. The company gave no test results for the platform that is not free.
Insight: The control of agents comes in parts
Beacon is a free record format, and the other platform stops tasks. On 14 October, 4 companies showed open identity checks for agents. On 18 October, Arize showed tests that use records of agent steps. The control of agents comes in parts, and the company that sets the record format can get the platform that is not free.
