Blackwall raises $100M Series C at a $2.2B valuation
Blackwall operates in the systems of web hosting providers and filters billions of requests each day, with AI agent traffic.
Blackwall, a web traffic management company, announced $100 million in Series C funding at a valuation of $2.2 billion. AVP led it, with Dawn Capital, MMC Ventures and Tera Ventures. Weeks before, Blackwall was reported at a valuation of €1 billion. The funds will pay for work in 12 regions in North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East.
What it sells
Blackwall sells bot control, DDoS protection (a defense against attacks that send too much traffic), a web application firewall, load balancing, server-side encryption and management of agentic AI traffic. It operates in the systems of the hosting provider. It tells human visitors and legitimate automated traffic from bad bots.
The numbers
Blackwall says it filters billions of requests each day. The source calls hosting a $200 billion market.
What is not known
The source gives no revenue, no customer count and no test results for the AI traffic tool. CEO Nikita Rozenberg says the web is more automated and more fragmented. The source says hyperscale and content-delivery platforms compete with providers for their customers, and Blackwall does not.
Insight: Blackwall sells to the gate keeper of the web
The source says that for most of the web, the hosting provider is the only connection to a site at scale. It also says AI agent traffic grows fast. This looks like a toll gate play: Blackwall sells to the provider, so it sits where agent traffic must go. Leaders who host sites with a provider can find out who decides which agents get in.
