Zoom adds 15 AI services and opens its tools to Microsoft Copilot
Zoom lets other AI assistants use its meeting data, and the user can work without Zoom open.
At Zoomtopia, Zoom added 15 new AI services for developers and more MCP servers. MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is a standard that connects AI tools to the data of a company. Microsoft 365 Copilot can use Zoom at this time, and Zoom tells that developers can use the new services and the new developer portal.
How it works
The new services give developers tools for voice and language. They include transcription, translation, summaries and live interpretation. Through MCP, an AI assistant can use the data from a Zoom meeting. Zoom will add Google Gemini.
The numbers
Zoom gave no test results and no data on use. It gave one count: 15 new services.
What is not known
Zoom gave no prices. It gave no date for the new MCP servers for Zoom Phone and other Zoom tools. It gave no date for Gemini.
Insight: Vendors now build for many assistants, not one
Zoom tells that users can work without Zoom open, and it works with 4 AI assistants. On 14 October, OutSystems made its platform work with 4 AI agents that write code. This reads as a move to be the tool in each assistant, because the assistant that staff open can keep the customer. Zoom can get more use, but the users do not see Zoom.
