rhino.ai and AWS sign a multi-year deal to modernize legacy systems
rhino.ai says it modernized more than 500 undocumented Java procedures in nine months, against an initial plan of 18 months.
rhino.ai announced a multi-year strategic collaboration agreement with Amazon Web Services (AWS). The point is to help large companies find the business rules in used software. Then AI agents move that software to AWS. rhino.ai installs its tools in the AWS environment of the customer. Two rhino.ai tools are in AWS Marketplace at this time. The announcement gives no value for the deal.
How it works
Logic Hub finds and records the business rules in legacy code, databases and mainframes. A workbench then carries them through specification, transformation, testing and deployment. Named humans can give approval at each step. A third tool saves approved decisions as patterns. Subsequent migrations for software vendors then have less expert work.
The numbers
rhino.ai says it did the Java work at a large financial firm, which it does not name. It also says federal work through partners had 60% faster discovery on some systems. A Koch Labs director praises the tool but gives no numbers.
What is not known
No external group has checked the results. The scope of the deal is not given.
Insight: AWS makes a ring of partners around its agent platform
rhino.ai uses AWS Transform and Amazon Bedrock AgentCore and sells through AWS Marketplace. The week before, AWS released its open tools to control agents. This reads as AWS moving partners that have the legacy work onto its agent services. This gets AWS more workloads. Look for more such deals. Find what ties you to AWS.
