Google releases 11 Gemini features, 7 of them in Japan

On 30 October 2026, Google released the October 2026 edition of Gemini Drops, its list of new Gemini features. The list has 11 features. Gemini 4 Argon, the first model of the Gemini 4 family, became available worldwide on 13 October 2026. Google says it is strong in programming, finance, law and cyber defense. What is new

Skills saves prompts that users start with a slash. Google will move its custom Gems to Skills from 17 November 2026. In the macOS app, a button opens Google Antigravity, a coding agent. The agent makes and tests software after the user approves its plan.

Who gets what

Seven of 11 features are available in Japan. Four are not: the macOS connection, more app connectors, immersive explorations and Avatar sharing. The Gemini Notebook connection is on by default, but off by default in the European Economic Area.

Insight: Google puts its agents, models and your data in one app

On 8 October 2026, Google showed an agent for Gemini Enterprise. On 28 October, its CEO said agents will go to the 1 billion users of the Gemini app. This release adds a coding agent and more than 40 connectors to that app. This looks like one door to the work and data of the user, and the first door used seems to set habits. Leaders must set which connectors staff can use.
