Ocient gets $100 million for data systems for AI agents

Ocient tells that its revenue will be more than 3 times as large in the year that ends in January.

Ocient, a company in Chicago, got $100 million in Series C funding. Its total funding is $260 million. Ocient makes a data platform that stores and queries very large data sets. AI agents and analysts use it. Boka Capital and OCA Ventures were the primary investors in this funding. Ocient tells that it will use the funding to increase its work with data for AI agents.

What is new

The OcientAIQ platform gets data, stores it and operates queries on it, and it controls agents. It keeps data safe with error correction codes, not with copies. Chief Executive John Morris tells that software agents, not analysts, query its systems more and more. This increases use of the platform.

The numbers

Ocient tells that revenue increased to 2 times the level of the year before. It tells that revenue will be more than 3 times as large in the year that ends in January. It gave no revenue number.

What is not known

Morris tells that the funding is sufficient for breakeven, but Morris gave no date. Snowflake and Databricks make systems that are almost the same, but Morris tells that Ocient frequently adds to them. Morris also tells that Ocient is not a tool for cybersecurity and does no detection.

Insight: Agents make the data layer a place for competition

Software agents query Ocient systems more and more. On 4 November 2026 Confluent released Lightning Tables to give agents live data. Ocient stores full data, and Confluent gives agents data when it changes. This reads as a move to control the data layer below agents, because an agent is only as good as its data. Leaders that want agents must check which data layer locks them in.
