Anthropic releases a Claude plugin made with about 30 nonprofits
Anthropic tells that the plugin helps small teams most: more than 75% of 25,000 nonprofit users have fewer than 10 seats.
Anthropic released a plugin for Claude, a set of skills and connectors made with about 30 nonprofits. It includes marketing and hiring tasks, a set up of Claude with the policies of the organization, and fundraising work from research to reports. Anthropic also will extend work that puts early career fellows in US nonprofits through a partnership.
How it works
The plugin has 3 areas:
- Extend your team: tasks for marketing, hiring and the board.
- Set up Claude: map where records are kept, and check if the AI policy lets staff do a task.
- Fund your mission: find grants, write proposals and reports, and plan donor contact.
Each other skill reads the map first, and Claude knows where to look.
The proof
Anthropic gave no test results or time figures. It quotes nonprofits that tried first versions on their work. One team used Claude on its analysis of more than 750 state policies in the US.
What is not known
The company will extend Claude Corps with Taproot. In the plan, Taproot will connect nonprofits with pro bono consultants for short projects. This is only a plan, and the company gave no date.
Insight: Anthropic puts seats, tools and people in small nonprofits
Anthropic cut Team seats to $3 for verified nonprofits in low and middle income countries. It includes Claude Code in nonprofit plans at no cost, and puts 1,000 fellows in US nonprofits. This reads as a move to hold the records of small teams, and free tools can cost most after the start. Monitor the discounts for changes.
