Cisco opens Cisco IQ to all its partners
More than 16,000 customers use Cisco IQ on near 20 million devices, and partners can give services with the name of the partner.
Cisco opened the tool Cisco IQ to all its partners, with the new Standard partner support plan. Cisco IQ is software that uses AI to find risks in network equipment and to plan the repair. Partners can make services with it. The services have the name of the partner and experts of the partner. Cisco tells that more than 16,000 customers use it on near 20 million devices.
What is new
Partners get these new features:
- Access by role: a customer shows data to a partner and keeps control of it.
- An API gives the data to the software of the partner.
- An MCP server helps AI agents use the data.
- Tools for IT service management can use the same data.
The numbers
The numbers come from a study by the firm IDC. The sponsor of the study is Cisco. It tells that Cisco IQ finds the devices that a security advisory names. Its speed is 96 times the speed of earlier methods. Teams make a plan from raw data with 5.7 times the speed. Cisco tells that partners can get 2.1 times more profit.
What is not known
Cisco gave no price for partners. Cisco also starts the Builders Challenge, with a $1 million prize. It gave no more information.
Insight: Vendors race to make the IT partner the control point
Cisco gives partners a view of customer equipment and a procedure for AI agents to use it. On 19 October, Pax8 made 8os, a tool that lets IT partners control the AI agents of their customers. This reads as a race between two vendors to make the partner the point of control. The first platform that partners use can be hard to change. If a partner operates your IT, find which platform it uses.
