Oracle and Google connect Oracle data to Gemini AI agents

The MCP server, a standard connection for agents, is available to all customers and lets agents send queries to Oracle databases.

Google Cloud and Oracle extend their work together at Oracle AI World in Las Vegas. Oracle makes databases that hold supply chain, finance and billing data for many companies, and agents that use Gemini AI models of Google can now use this data through a controlled connection. The post gives no test results and no prices.

What is new

  • Available to all: the MCP server, with access rules from Google Cloud, and Oracle in Gemini Enterprise.
  • In a test version: a Gemini connector that answers questions with the data that a user can see.
  • In a test version: Oracle and Google can read and write shared tables, with no copy of the data.

The numbers

The post gives no numbers for speed, cost or customers. Its one figure is more than 135 pre-built skills in Oracle in Gemini Enterprise.

What is not known

Many parts are only in a test version and users must sign up. Partners such as IBM and Infosys offer plans for use, but the post gives no results from customers.

Insight: Oracle opens its data but keeps the gate

Oracle and Google Cloud say that Oracle will offer Google TPUs from 2027. Gemini agents can also get Oracle data through MCP, a standard that the Agentic AI Foundation holds. This looks like Oracle opening its data to rival agents while it stays the gate that they must use. Look for the price and the access terms.
