Dark Matter gets House Numbers AI agents for mortgage software
The agents of House Numbers do loan tasks for more than 100 lenders, Dark Matter tells. They did this for 2 years.
On 30 October 2026, Dark Matter Technologies got the AI agent platform of House Numbers. Dark Matter makes software for home lenders. House Numbers is a company that investors fund. It makes AI agents for mortgage work. The agents monitor loan files and write to borrowers by email, text and voice. Dark Matter did not give the price.
How it works
The agents check documents for missing signatures or pages. Lenders select which tasks an agent does and which tasks a human must examine. Dark Matter will put the agents in its loan origination software and its point-of-sale software. They will operate on Amazon Web Services.
The numbers
Vikas Rao is the chief executive of Dark Matter. Rao tells that 19 types of agent task are in production. Rao tells that a loan costs near $12,000 to make. Near $6,000 of this is operations cost. This is an estimate of Rao. The company gave no test results.
What is not known
The price is not known. Rao tells that a human examines all agent output, but the company gave no error data. Dark Matter will add new features in weeks, and more in the months after.
Insight: Dark Matter got the agents to take the lender workflow
Rao tells that the 2 companies first discussed a partnership. Then Rao proposed to get House Numbers. This puts the agents deep in the Dark Matter software, not in a different tool. The parent company, Constellation Software, encourages such deals, and Rao wants more in 2027. This reads as a move to get the lender workflow. A lender that gets the software gets the agents with it.
