Tana lets teams put Claude and ChatGPT agents in meetings

The agents show tasks in the meeting, and a person must give approval before an agent does the task.

Tana, a meeting platform, launched Bring Your Own Agent on 3 November 2026. Teams connect agents that they use at this time, such as Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini, to their meetings. Each agent has its connectors, skills and memory. It gets the same live context as the persons in the room: voice, screen and chat. Tana gave no test results.

How it works

The agents suggest tasks during the meeting. A person gives approval, and the agent does the work before the meeting ends. Tana gives these examples:

  • the numbers pulled
  • the forecast sheet updated
  • the issue filed
  • the slides created
  • the decision posted in Slack

The tool works with Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet through the Tana desktop app.

The numbers

There are no numbers. Tana gave no data on speed or how correct the agents are. The chief executive says that meetings are at this time the most productive part of our day. This is a claim from the company. A free trial is available.

What is not known

Tana does not say how frequently the agents are correct, or which data each agent can see. The chief executive says that security and compliance slow a company at first. Tana has EU hosting and a selection of US or EU inference, which is the operation of the AI model. It names one user only as a large European health tech company.

Insight: Tana wants to own the meeting, not the agent

Tana stopped work on the agents that it made. At this time it hosts the agents of other companies and gives them the live context of the meeting. In October 2026, Meta and Sierra started an open standard that sets the access of an agent. This seems a race to control the context that agents use, as a toll gate, and not the agents. Find out which of your agents can hear your meetings.
