Meta lets AI agents make apps and business accounts
Four of the six new tools change the account of a developer. Each one needs a yes from a person first.
On 26 October 2026 Meta added six tools to its Social Technologies MCP server. This is a connector, made on the Model Context Protocol (an open standard), that lets AI coding agents use external tools. Agents can make a Meta app and a Business Portfolio, and connect the two. They can add a use case such as WhatsApp Business messaging. Before, this needed many visits to the developer dashboard.
How it works
A developer types one sentence. The agent gives its plan and waits for a yes before each write. Four tools write and two only read. App creation does not give the app secret. The developer must get it from the dashboard.
The limits
Meta documents give a limit of 15 new apps and 15 new Business Portfolios each day. Checks with errors and plans that a person declines can count as tries. A use case gives privileges, and the server cannot remove it. The tools come to accounts in steps.
What is not known
Meta set 13 October 2027 as the date when the WhatsApp Cloud API stops marketing messages. Meta did not say if the new tool can add the Marketing Messages API. It also did not name other WhatsApp use cases.
Insight: Meta gets businesses in as it claims their content
Agents can make business accounts on Meta. Its new terms start on 30 October and let it crawl the websites of business accounts to train its AI. Meta makes it easy to add businesses, and the same accounts are in terms that give it their content. This seems to be a push to own the point where agents and businesses work together. Read the terms before an agent connects a portfolio.
