Apple opens Siri AI to all app developers in a preview
At this time, each app can add its content and tasks to Siri AI, and Apple gives no rules of use.
On 3 November 2026, Apple opened a preview of Siri AI, its new version of Siri, for all developers. The preview is in the 27.3 beta software for iOS, iPadOS, macOS and visionOS. Apple tells that thousands of developers made links with Siri before this. The first release to users is in some months, Apple tells.
How it works
An app uses App Intents, a tool that lists the tasks of an app, to give its content and tasks to Siri AI. A user speaks to Siri AI, and it does the task, for example to check a delivery or to make an order. Skills let a developer show Siri AI how to connect some tasks into one task.
The proof
Apple gave no test results for the new tools. It tells that Siri AI is profoundly more capable. Apple opens App Store submissions in the spring.
What is not known
Apple gives the policies of use after this. Siri AI is not available in the European Union or for users less than 13 years old. Features that use server models have a limit for each day, and more access has a fee.
Insight: Platforms open to agents and keep the gate
Slack opened its Code API to all developers on 28 October. Zoom lets Microsoft 365 Copilot use data from its meetings. At this time, Apple opens Siri AI to all apps. This reads as a move by each to be the primary gate for agents, and Apple keeps control of the rules and of the fee. Apple gets more control if many apps connect to Siri AI. Leaders must monitor the rules that Apple gives.
