Sierra buys Anon to let AI agents work behind website logins

Sierra customers pay for work that is done, not for tokens. An agent that stops at a login has no result.

Sierra said on 5 November 2026 that it bought Anon. Anon is a startup that makes software for AI agents to sign in to websites and work in browsers. Anon adds a team and tools for services that have no APIs (software links between systems). Anon says it completed hundreds of thousands of tasks in production. Sierra says its agents move billions of customer interactions each year.

How it works

Anon makes tools for work behind logins. They move credentials and sign in, operate browsers and control the agents. Developers can embed a kit in their tools. A visual builder records a workflow, and the agent replays it.

The numbers

Anon says it raised more than $13 million and has hundreds of customers. It says it completed a soc 2 type ii inspection in July 2025. It says it does not keep credentials but streams them through isolated environments. These are claims by Anon.

What is not known

Sierra gave no price for the deal. It gave no test results for the new tools. It expects Anon to help agents finish work across many systems. Sierra gave no test results for that.

Insight: Sierra buys the access to the door it helps to guard

On 9 October 2026, Meta and Sierra started an open standard that sets the access of an agent. At this time Sierra owns a tool that signs agents in to sites. Customers pay for outcomes. A login that does not work has a cost for Sierra. This reads as Sierra taking the rules and the access. Monitor if other agent companies buy the same browser step.
