Microsoft will stop its Copilot AI tool on TVs during 2026

A notice on an LG TV tells of the end, and no one gave a date.

Microsoft will stop its Copilot AI assistant on all TVs during 2026. Windows Central tells this. The information came from a notice on the screen of an LG TV, not from LG, Samsung or Microsoft. The notice gives no stop date. At CES 2025, LG and Samsung gave notice that new TVs will have Copilot.

What the notice says

The notice tells that Microsoft stops Copilot on all TVs. It tells that the stop is in 2026. Microsoft sets the date.

The proof

There are no numbers. There is only one source: one notice on one LG TV. A writer of Windows Central saw it. In December 2025, LG added a Copilot shortcut that users cannot remove. LG then let users remove it.

What is not known

Microsoft, LG and Samsung gave no information on this. The stop date is not known. The report does not tell if Samsung TVs show the same notice.

Insight: Microsoft moves to work tools and TV partners are not first

Microsoft puts its Copilot tools in one app for work and for use at home. It has more than 30 million seats of Copilot that users pay for. Only 18% of workers select it when ChatGPT is also there. This reads as Microsoft moves to work tools, where users pay for seats, and TV partners are not first. For leaders: a partner can stop a tool at all times.
