India has more weekly ChatGPT users than each other market
OpenAI India head Prabhjeet Singh says India has 2 times more users than in January 2026, but gave no new count.
OpenAI says India has the most weekly active ChatGPT users of each market. Singh, the head of OpenAI in India, told the news site ET about it. In February 2026, OpenAI said India had more than 100 million weekly ChatGPT users. Singh says the first task is more effect from AI, and expects paid plans to increase.
What is new
OpenAI adds more features for languages of India and puts Android first, to get users in more cities. It also adds ads in India with Razorpay, a payment company. Brands in the first group include Tanishq and Tata Neu.
The proof
The only figures are the count of more than 100 million in February 2026 and the claim of 2 times more users since January. Singh gave no new count and no revenue. Singh says advertisers get no data about users and ads do not change answers. No other group has checked this.
